White chocolate cookies

Ingredients

½ | cup | Butter or margarine |
½ | cup | Shortening |
¾ | cup | Sugar |
½ | cup | Packed brown sugar |
1 | each | Egg |
1¾ | cup | All-purpose flour |
1 | teaspoon | Baking soda |
½ | teaspoon | Salt |
2 | teaspoons | Vanilla extract |
10 | ounces | White chocolate -- coarsely |
Chopped | ||
½ | cup | Coarsely chopped macadamia |
Nuts -- lightly toasted |
Directions
In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and shortening. Gradually add sugars, beating until light and fluffy. Add egg; mix well. Combine flour, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture. Blend in vanilla. Stir in chocolate and nuts. Cover and chill dough for 1 hour. Drop by heaping tablespoonsful about 3 in. apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake at 350 deg. for 12-14 minutes or until lightly browned. Let stand a few minutes before removing cookies to a wire rack to cool.
