Banana orange softies

1⅔ | cup | Mashed ripe banana (about 3 large bananas) |
¾ | cup | Margarine or butter softened |
½ | cup | Orange juice |
2 | Eggs | |
2 | teaspoons | Vanilla |
1 | teaspoon | Grated orange peel |
2 | cups | Quaker Oats, uncooked (quick or old-fashioned) |
2 | cups | All-purpose flour |
¾ | teaspoon | Baking soda |
½ | teaspoon | Salt (optional) |
½ | teaspoon | Nutmeg |
¾ | cup | Raisins |
¾ | cup | Powdered sugar |
5 | teaspoons | Orange juice |
1 | teaspoon | Grated orange peel |
Directions
ORANGE ICING
Heat oven to 350 F. Combine bananas, margarine and orange juice.
Blend in eggs, vanilla and orange peel. Add combined dry ingredients and raisins; mix well. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 20 to 22 minutes or until light golden brown.
Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack. Drizzle icing over cooled cookies. Store tightly covered.
ORANGE ICING: Combine ¾ cup powdered sugar, 4 to 5 teaspoons orange juice and 1 teaspoon grated orange peel. Mix until smooth.
