Everyday classic meat sauce (with spaghetti)

1 servings

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 pounds Pasta; any shape
2 tablespoons Olive oil
1 large Onion; chopped
1 Dried chili pepper; optional
2 Cloves garlic; minced
¾ pounds Ground beef; or turkey
4 cups Diced tomatoes; (canned or fresh),
; drained
2 tablespoons Tomato paste
Salt and freshly ground black pepper; to taste
1 tablespoon Chopped fresh italian parsley

Directions

1. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and stir a few times to ensure that the pasta does not stick to itself. Boil vigorously for the time recommended on the pasta package or until the pasta is tender.

2. While the pasta cooks, heat the oil in a large skillet over high heat, add the onion, and cook, stirring often, until browned, about 2 minutes.

Add the chili pepper if desired, the garlic, and the meat and continue cooking until the meat loses its raw look.

3. Add the tomatoes, tomato paste, salt, and pepper, bring to a boil, and simmer for 4 to 5 minutes. Adjust the salt and pepper and stir in the parsley. Remove the chili pepper. Drain the pasta and toss it with the sauce in a serving bowl.
