Green beans and glazed-tomatoe sauce
4 Servings
Ingredients
Quantity | Ingredient | |
---|---|---|
1 | pounds | Whole green beans |
2 | tablespoons | Butter |
½ | cup | Sugar |
1 | dash | Salt |
1 | quart | Chopped; peeled tomatoes |
Directions
Cook the whole green beans, covered, in small amount of boiling salted water until tender. Meanwhile, melt butter in skillet, stir in sugar and salt, and add tomatoes. Cook over low heat until liquid has boiled down, turning tomatoes frequently to glaze on all sides. Drain beans and top with tomatoes.
Tootie Notes: this "glazing" leaves the tomatoes looking like they have little sparkles all over them.
