Hoosier meat loaf

Ingredients

1 | pounds | Ground chuck |
1 | pounds | Ground pork |
2 | cups | Oatmeal, raw |
2 | Eggs, beaten | |
2 | tablespoons | Beef granules |
1 | teaspoon | Allspice |
1 | teaspoon | Pepper |
¼ | teaspoon | Thyme |
½ | cup | Onion, minced |
½ | cup | Green pepper, minced |
Directions
Combine beef, pork, oats, onion and green pepper. Mix well. Add beef granules, pepper, allspice and thyme to beaten eggs. Beat again until well mixed. Pour into meat mixture and blend with hands until thoroughly mixed. Place in loaf pan; shape and bake in 350 degree oven for 1½ hours.
Optional Sauce
1 cup onions 16 ounce can of Red Gold stewed tomatoes 3 tb Jack Daniels whiskey ¼ ts nutmeg
Pour stock from meat loaf pan into a small saucepan. Add onion and cook until tender, about 5 minutes. Add stewed tomatoes, Jack Daniels and nutmeg. Cover and simmer 15 minutes. Serve over loaf slices.
