Directions
The title of this one gives you the recipe. In early days a frontier or Colonial family did not have as many courses on the table as in later times. This dish could serve as an evening meal, or a dessert, or, for that matter, a breakfast.
Pan-fry apple slices in a little butter or bacon fat (that was common) and serve with maple syrup.
