Peanut patties

Ingredients

2½ | cup | Sugar |
⅔ | cup | White corn syrup |
1 | cup | Cream |
3½ | cup | Raw peanuts or pecans |
1 | tablespoon | Butter |
1 | teaspoon | Vanilla |
Few drops red food coloring |
Directions
Combine sugar, syrup, cream and peanuts in a heavy saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until a few drops of mixture forms a soft ball when dropped in cool water. Remove from heat. Add butter, vanilla and coloring. Beat until mixture is thick and creamy.
Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper.
*Note: milk can be used instead of cream.
