Ingredients

2 | pounds | Fresh turnip greens |
5 | slices | Bacon |
4 | cups | ;water |
1 | tablespoon | White vinegar |
1 | teaspoon | Salt |
¼ | teaspoon | To 1/2 ts red pepper flakes |
¼ | teaspoon | Pepper |
Directions
Wash greens thoroughly; drain. Tear into bite-sized pieces.
Combine greens, bacon, and water in a Dutch oven, and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 30 minutes. Add vinegar, salt, pepper flakes, and pepper. Cover and cook 1 hour. Remove bacon slices before serving. Yield: 6 servings.
Note: One 16-ounce package of frozen turnip greens can be substituted for fresh turnip greens. Cook according to package directions, adding seasonings.
