Escalloped cabbage

4 | cups | Chopped cabbage |
1 | cup | Milk |
1 | cup | Cracker crumbs |
½ | cup | Grated cheese |
1 | teaspoon | Salt |
2 | tablespoons | Flour |
4 | tablespoons | Butter |
2 | tablespoons | Water |
Directions
Wilt cabbage in water and a tablespoon of sugar over low heat. Melt butter; add flour, stirring until blended. Add milk and a dash of pepper, making a thin white sauce. Place a layer of cabbage in buttered casserole dish, sprinkle with half of cheese and half of cracker crumbs. Repeat for second layer, holding back cracker crumbs.
Pour white sauce over the top and add rest of the cracker crumbs. Dot with butter and bake 25 minutes at 400 degrees. Randy Rigg Submitted By RANDY RIGG On 04-05-95
